Senator Mullin Honored for Immunization AdvocacySenator Kevin J. Mullin received the Citizen of the Year Award from the Vermont Medical Society during its 199th annual meeting Oct. 27, at the Woodstock Inn in Woodstock, Vt.

In presenting him with the award, AAPVT President and VMS member Louis DiNicola, M.D., cited Sen. Mullin's advocacy of S. 199, a bill that supported the elimination of the philosophical exemption to immunizations, during this year’s legislation session.  The Society commended him for his efforts to improve the state's immunization rates, promote good health and save lives.

The Citizen of the Year Award is presented to a non-physician resident of Vermont who has made a significant contribution to the health of the people of Vermont.
