New Web Resource: Implementing DSS in Practice
As you may know, the "Medical Home
Screening and Surveillance Program" (MHSSP) is a cooperative agreement
with the CDC. The COCWD Executive Committee serves as an
advisory group to the MHSSP. Partnership with the MHSSP has
allowed the COCWD to look at implementation of our policies.
A recent project of the MHSSP was the Developmental Surveillance and
Screening Implementation Project (D-PIP). The purpose of D-PIP
was to assess the feasibility of implementing the policy statement,
"Identifying Infants and Young Children with Developmental Disorders
in the Medical Home: An Algorithm for Developmental Surveillance and
Screening" into pediatric practice. The algorithm served as a
decision-making tool for health care professionals conducting
developmental surveillance and screening (DSS).
Introducing....The MHSSP, in conjunction with D-PIP practice sites,
has most recently developed a series of web pages that provide
information on the implementation of DSS in pediatric practices.
The pages include: an interactive partnerships, training/education,
and additional resources for providers and parents.
