AAPVT Chapter Spring Meeting

May 9, 2008

On May 9th, the  American Academy of Pediatrics Vermont Chapter will hold it's Spring CME program at GMC.  This program will be a full day program on topics of interest to everyone who care for children.  Everyone is invited and the cost is minimal for the day at only $95 for 6 CME Category I Credits.  Such a deal!!!

The agenda includes some new and some well know Pediatric Physicians from Vermont and Maine.   Here is the agenda as it stands now, there may be some subtle changes in times:

  • Pediatric Orthopedics with Jennifer Lisle, MD again the newest member of the FAHC Pediatric Orthopedics department

  • Pediatric Cardiology with Niels Giddins, MD  the newest addition to the Pediatric Cardiology Program at FAHC. Dr. Giddins will present two presentations, one on Syncope in Children and one on Chest Pain in Children  Note:  DR. Giddins will be starting a Pediatric Cardiology clinic at GMC in May or June one day a month!!!  Come and meet him and earn some CME

  • Pediatric Maintenance of Certification presented by Mort Wasserman, MD Pediatrician who heads the National PROS group (office based pediatric research)

  • Lyme Disease presented by Beatrice Szantyr, MD (IM/PEDS) with the latest information on Lyme Disease in Vermont, how to recognize, treat and prevent

  • Pediatric Neurosurgery with Izabela Tarasiewicz, MD, the newest member of the FAHC Pediatric Neurosurgery Department

Please set aside this time, it will be a great program, a good time to meet new providers, learn more about Lyme Disease and interact with Pediatric providers across Vermont.
